Coaches

All of our coaches are volunteers and have a Working with Children Check and Netball Victoria membership. SFCNC is working toward having all coaches gain accreditation.


SFCNC will cover the costs of coaches attending Netball Victoria accredited coaching courses – however please check with the President or Coaching Coordinator before registering for the course.


New coaches are always welcome, and we are particularly keen to involve senior members of our community in mentoring our junior coaches.

Team managers

Every team requires a parent/adult to take on the role of Team Manager.


The Team Manager’s responsibilities include

  • Communicating between the coach and the team/parents
  • Assigning a scorer in Netball Connect where we are the home team
  • Helping parents with scoring as needed
  • Write a brief match report each week

Hilltop Recreation Association

SFCNC is proud to be a member club of the Hilltop Recreation Association, and take an active role on committee. We form part of the Association along with the Olinda Ferny Creek Football Netball Club, Olinda Ferny Creek Junior Football Club, Olinda Cricket Club, Olinda Community Pool, Kalorama Mt Dandenong Tennis Club and Ferny Creek Tennis Club.


The Hilltop Association acts as a forum for the clubs to work together, share resources, support each other, improve facilities, and promote community participation in sport and recreational activities.


The Olinda Pavilion can be hired for events. More information about the Hilltop Recreation Association can be found via the button below.

Player Informatiom

Sassafras Ferny Creek Netball Club would like to acknowledge the Wurundjeri people who are the traditional custodians of the land on which we train and play. We pay our respects to the Elders past, present and future, and extend that respect to all Indigenous Australians. We also wish to recognise the contribution that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people make to our sport, and highlight the power of netball to promote reconciliation, enhance belonging and reduce inequality.
