Association & Club Information

Mountain District Netball Association

SFCNC is part of the Mountain District Netball Association (MDNA). All fixtures, ladders and by-laws can be found on their website via the link below.

Matches

Players must be at the courts and ready to start at least 15-20 minutes prior to their match start time. This allows players to warm up and for coaches and team managers to organise teams.

If a player is unable to attend a game, please let the coach or team manager know as soon as possible. Contact details will be forwarded to players with team lists.

Weather

In the event of extreme weather conditions (heat/wet), the Mountain District Netball Association may decide to cancel matches for safety reasons. If this is the case, they will contact the club/team contact. However, there is often not enough time to contact everyone, so if you are in doubt about the weather and you have not received a call to say the match is cancelled, players must go to the courts.

Fixtures

The Association will publish the season’s fixture one week after the final grading day. Fixtures can be found on the association website.

It is also possible that a draw may be changed within the first 2 weeks of the competition due to re-grading.

Modified and Under 11s are re-graded throughout the season. Regrading are notified on the association website.

Fundraising

The Sassafras Ferny Creek Netball Club relies on club members and their families. There is a great deal of expenditures for equipment, team entry fees etc. The Club will request families to participate in fundraising yearly.

The club relies heavily on sponsorship and are always actively seeking further sponsorship. If you know of individual or businesses that would be willing to sponsor the club, please speak to the club President. Various levels of sponsorship are available on a yearly basis.

Player Informatiom

Sassafras Ferny Creek Netball Club would like to acknowledge the Wurundjeri people who are the traditional custodians of the land on which we train and play. We pay our respects to the Elders past, present and future, and extend that respect to all Indigenous Australians. We also wish to recognise the contribution that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people make to our sport, and highlight the power of netball to promote reconciliation, enhance belonging and reduce inequality.
